2007/2008 Seasons At A Glance

FROM THE OKLAHOMA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE CONSERVATION

DEER SEASONS: The archery deer season runs from Oct 1 through Jan 15.
The muzzleloading season opens on the fourth Saturday in October and runs for nine days. The deer gun season opens the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs for 16 days.

ARCHERY: Oct. 1 - 2007-Jan. 15, 2008 ( Jan. 1-15, 2008, Antlerless only)

MUZZLELOADING: Oct. 27 - Nov. 4, 2007 (Antlerless days vary by zone)

GUN: Nov. 17 - Dec. 2, 2007 (Antlerless days vary by zone)

YOUTH ANTLERLESS DEER GUN: Friday, Saturday, Sunday as published in the 2007-2008 Regulations available in August; statewide

SPECIAL ANTLERLESS SEASON: TBA (Open only in certain zones). Consult the 2007-2008 Oklahoma Hunting Guide for dates and zones.

DOVE: Sept. 1, 2007 - Oct. 30, 2007; statewide

CROW: Oct. 10 - Nov. 16, 2007 and Dec. 9, 2007 - Mar. 4, 2008; statewide

RABBIT: Cottontail & Swamp Oct. 1, 2007 - Mar. 15, 2008; statewide Jackrabbit Oct. 1, 2007 - Mar. 15, 2008 (west of I-35 only); no open season on
jackrabbits east of I-35

WILD TURKEY: Check regulations pertaining to individual counties.

Fall 2007 Season: Gun: Nov. 3-16; open only in select counties.
Archery: Oct 1, 2007 - Jan. 15, 2008; statewide

QUAIL: Nov. 10, 2007 - Feb. 15, 2008; statewide

PHEASANT: Only designated areas (see Oklahoma Hunting Guide for counties)- Dec. 1, 2007 - Jan. 31, 2008

SQUIRREL: May 15, 2007 - Jan. 31, 2008; statewide

COMMON SNIPE: Oct. 1, 2007- Jan. 15, 2008; statewide

HUNTER EDUCATION: In Oklahoma, you must possess certification from a hunter education class if you were born after December 31, 1971. But be of good cheer! There are plenty of opportunities for Hunter Education classes - JUST CLICK HERE!
