Alcohol-Related Deaths Up In Oklahoma

From Mothers Against Drunk Driving:

According statistics from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office, drunk driving fatalities have remained about the same since 2005.  However, overall traffic fatalities are down, (from 803 to 731) meaning drunk driving deaths have increased as a total of traffic deaths.

Drunk driving deaths as a percentage of all traffic deaths in Oklahoma:
  • 2005 - 232 deaths - 29% of total fatalities
  • 2010 - 233 deaths - 32% of total fatalities

Alcohol-related deaths have gone up 3%, while total traffic fatalities have gone down.  Another reason Oklahoma needs this bill.
