From the polling data:
First, in a survey of likely Republican primary voters, using a random dialed survey to determine that James Davenport is within striking distance (46.08%) of winning the July 27th primary without a runoff. The survey was conducted July 9-11, 2010. The margin of error on this survey is +/-5.1%, with 319 respondents. The Senate seat being vacated by Debbe Leftwich will be a Republican pick up if the polling is any indication. Davenport has been working this district the old-fashioned way: Without attacks but with integrity.
Second, with a twenty five (25) point advantage over the nearest candidate, and the three other candidates all packed together within seven percentage of each other.
James is a good, honest man whom I believe to be well suited for this Senate seat. I know James to be a very hard-working man who is in tune with what is happening in his district. I wish him all the luck and maybe, a victory without a run-off.
